OS X for Intel spotted in the wild, with video

Looks like OS X Tiger for Intel has already leaked onto the Internet, and apparently someone succeeded in installing it on a Dell laptop.

To me, this looks suspicious. Might as well be PearPC.

  • The processor in “about this mac” would give it away. If it’s PearPC, it will list a PowerPC G3 or G4 because PearPC is a PPC emulator. If it’s real, it would say Pentium 4 or whatever.

  • Unfortunately, the text in the “About” box is too blurred to be readable. Moreover, the original page has been slashdotted or something, so is currently unavailable.

  • It might well be that the early releases run on a standard PC, but quite surely the next ones will not.
